  • 3 Page Website in 30 Minutes – WordCamp Buffalo 2019

Thanks to WordCamp Buffalo for having me speak once again. I always love presenting here and, while I don’t do as much WordPress as I used to, I still love the community that it brings together.

This presentation is a live demo of how to build this site. When it is made available on WordPress.tv, I’ll post it here. I’m also hoping to record it myself, as a test run for my courses.

If you’d like to sign up to be notified when my full course becomes available, please click the sign up button below.

And don’t forget that WordCamp Hamilton is on June 1! You’ll have a chance to see some of your favourite speakers and some new ones in our local community. All this for $20 CDN! The schedule will be available very soon and tickets are now on sale: https://2019.hamilton.wordcamp.org/tickets/ Hope to see you there!

  • WTH are CPT’s and ACF’s? – WordCamp Hamilton 2018

Thanks to the following people especially to the wonderful people that got me to WordCamp Hamilton this weekend:

    • Morten Rand-Hendriksen for teaching me CPT’s and ACF’s on Lynda.com and answering all my crazy questions on Twitter as I learned.
    • Michelle Schulp and Dan Beil who helped me to understand why to use these wonderful things, not just the how.
    • Chad Fullerton and Karen Maraj who added me to the roster and gave me the chance to share this knowledge.
    • Weever Apps for giving me the ability to stay local to my community.
    • Kiera Howe for always helping me with my technical issues and being there when I need her always.
    • And most of all to Adam Wills, our lead organizer for more reasons that I can mention, including helping to get me to where I am today.

I really want to thank everyone who came to see my presentation. I really had a fun time giving this one and look forward to the feedback on this new presentation. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this!

The update to this is now the video has been posted. Hope you enjoy!

Ever wonder how to properly give credit for something you are using? Not sure if you’re actually allowed to use it? Where can I find images to use? All this and more can be answered at our session, The Creative Commons Scavenger Hunt! Join us to win some (small, but good) prizes from north of the border! And for the record, be lucky I didn’t start talking like a pirate because I’m watching Pirates of the Caribbean as I write this post…

  • WordCamp Toronto 2017 – Everything I Need To Know About Life I Learned at Code School

It’s been a while since I was at WordCamp Toronto and giving the talk in my old alma mater, the Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University. It was an amazing weekend and I hope to post some photos soon, though there weren’t as many as I usually take. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this topic and others. Can’t wait until the next one!
